The rusting remains of the West Pier are as much a part of Brighton as fish and chips and a terrible train service. Rising up out of the English Channel like a plucky survivor of some disaster movie, it is considered an eyesore by some but is loved by many.

In some ways the West Pier has become a symbol of Brighton’s resilience over the years – No amount of gentrification or i360s are going to change it.
